Technology of the New World
« on: January 23, 2011, 03:59:15 PM »
I was reading posts about "Bows and Arrows in the New World" when I noticed that carts* were mentioned about some Southern people.

According to what I've learned and just like this article here under, I thought that the wheel wasn't used in Ancient America !?

*(or was it in use after European contacts, just like the horse ?)

"Why Not Wheels?

Given that this technology was known by several cultures of Ancient America, and given (and it is a FACT) that is was not in use to transport goods and people, the question begs answering: why wasn't it used?"

However did Ancient America create a technology unknown to Europeans ?

Von Danniken would have us to believe that ancient astronauts gave them their technology.  But I think they were a resourceful people who appreciated mathematics and science, and were certainly capable of employing simple machines to make their daily tasks easier just like any other culture has done.
