Great travel routes through history
« on: December 07, 2011, 11:49:01 AM »
Here is a neat site which gives overviews (and a map) of some of the great travels over the past 500 years or so, from Columbus' voyage to the Lewis and Clark expedition to the counter-cultural "electric kool-aid acid trip test" of the late 1960s (granted, not all trips are of equal historical status  :) ).  Anyway, take a look.

"Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses" ~Juvenal
