Some interesting pieces of information on cuisine of the Middle Ages.

Food in the Middle Ages: Eight Things You Probably Didn’t Know

I have one of the mentioned Traveling Ovens, "A Dutch Oven" today, and use it when I go camping.  I also don't know how reliable their claim that people lost their teeth early is.  I have read in several places that dental problems did not become widespread until the 17th and 18th centuries nd the widespread importation of sugar from the Caribbean.  That actually makes pretty good sense to me.

I would agree with that assessment.  It should be easy enough to verify through skeletal remains.  I don't know what medieval people would have eaten which would have deteriorated their teeth quickly.  Honey is about the only thing, though I'm not sure that the kind of sugar it contains is as bad on the teeth as processed sugar.
