I’m wondering if anyone here has seen the movie Cold Mountain, and if so, what they thought of it. It was interesting getting the perspective of the Southerners as they rallied for war, and the siege at Petersburg was memorable.
I did see the movie, albeit with low expectations over what I perceived to be its “love story” theme. I was suprised that I enjoyed it so much. The story was very entertaining and I agree with your take on the Petersburg portion. Overall a very good movie.
I enjoyed the battle of the crater scenes and the stuff dealing with the homegaurds, but not much else.
