That is pretty neat. Maps are awesome. Incidentally, the map #4 predated the birth of the Belgian Congo?
Since the Congo Free State was existing from 1885 until 1908, that map must be dating from that period of time. However this state wasn't due to any Belgian naval power as the caption of this map is suggesting about the carving up of Africa during the “Scramble for Africa” era.
