1,700 UK scientists back climate science.  The fact that one of the lead climate science institutes in the world was caught apparently colluding to cooking the books on Global Warming is irrelevant say 1,700 UK scientists.  All I can say is  😮 WOW 😮  I get that they can still think the science is right, but to say that the hacked emails dont point to something fishy just bowls me over.  Whose head is in the sand?

Whose head is in the sand?

Those who are making the most money or getting the most grants from this scam, that's who.  :-Here's a slightly different spin on the same story.

One scientist said that he felt under pressure to sign the circular or risk losing work.

I just wonder if he's notthe only one.

It would not surprise me if there were arm-twisting going on.  That happens anywhere when orthodoxy is challenged and feels under threat.  That is what happened to Galileo and why Copernicus waited to publish until after his death, both challenged the prevailing orthodoxy.

Another update: Stolen e-mails embolden climate change skeptics.  The minute this article started talking about “climate deniers” I quit paying serious attention to it.  How can they have any credibilty in a NEWS piece if they use that kind of emotionally charged language?  the push to marginalize this is getting a full court press.  Does that mean the GW proponents are worried? These are also good ones: The real inconvenient truth, Eat less meat and dairy: official recipe to help health of consumers ? and the planet

The AP has now weighed in: Science not faked, but not pretty.  And the story begins its slide into obscurity as the media has mostly mocked it as being nothing.  What if the shoe were on the other foot?  How much media play would a story like this get if those caught were GW deniers? ???

The flap would not end until everyone that knew anything, what they knew, and when they knew it became plastered on every paper, mag, and news show, anywhere.

My assessment as well.  This however, is a story they want to die.

This fits too seeing as how these are the folks that presume to lecture Europe, America, and the West about our forms of society.  Putting our economy in the hands of Chavez fans  Yeah, I am going to take my marching orders from the likes of Chavez and Mugabe.
