I've noticed that after some short while one can no longer edit their own posts. What is the time limit? Also why? Other forums allow a poster to edit thier posts indefinitely. Thanks in advance,Wally

It's currently set at 30 minutes.  I can, if people would like, have no time limit altogether….  I know of a forum I post at where the limit is only about 6 minutes or so.  I think the reasoning behind this is that it's not good if a person posts something on day one and then a month or a year later decides to change it…could potentially lead to some bad situations, such as after replies have already been made to a post which is edited down the road.I dunno…could be a moot point here.  I can modify this.

I don't even know what the settings are over at Christian Legacies.  Not allowing the editing of posts over there after a short time might not be a bad idea since that board seems to be prone to conflict.  I'm so glad this board has no affinities toward conflict. 🙂

Maybe not forever but at least a week or so to give one time to reflect… I know there have been several time when I went baqck to post that I made and would have liked to have been able to clarify a point.

I have heard of the limit set until someone replies to the OP, than after that your  out of luck. At least that way you cant change what you said after someone replies to it.

That would be the ideal way to do it, wouldn't it?  Alas, the forum software does not currently allow that to be done.  Perhaps it will in the next version that is released.

One of the other forums I follow just leaves it open; I could go back an edit a post from last month or last year… it does automatically tag it as having been edited with date and time. FWIWSeems like this is the answer… thanks for considering the idea.PS Happy Constitution Day to one and all!
