, the national budget and debt seem to be kind of fading away right now, at least in the news.

that's because it makes Obama look bad.

I just don't understand why it is being allowed to fade away.  It seems to me that the failure of the supercommittee is a huge deal but only Democrats seem to be making hay out of it.  I am stumped, the budget is a dead sure Republican issue, especially with the Tea Party.

surprised you don't see it.  It's because they are going to use the failure to blame the Republicans.  This is going to be, and already is, Obama's main campaign propaganda.  I just hope the people of the US don't fall for it. (again…not holding my breath)

Never underestimate the stupidity of the General public.  They voted Obama in the first time didn't they?  Come to think of it they voted for Carter, Clinton, and LBJ too.  I am almost surprised that they didn't give Mondale a chance.Personally, I think the Democrats are so bound and determined to implement destructive policies because they are still holding a grudge about the way slavery was abolished in America.

Does anybody seriously think Newt Gingrich wll be president?  Once again, the American political process disgusts me.As to Cain, I still like him and think the left has gone overboard to get him.  I don't understand why the left has a problem with him if he is a philanderer, they elected Clinton after al and he not only cheated on his wife, he did it in the Oval Office and lied about it in court and they still think he is a great guy.  The character assassination sems to be working against Cain though, to my dismay.  He has been bombarded with so many allegations he cannot even campaign anymore.

I don't see why not.  Obviously, it would come down to the general election, but he is probably the most intelligent policy mind in the group of candidates, and has the most convincing points in public speaking.  Seems that his most pressing weaknesses are his personal baggage, though these are not “new” revelations and therefore won't shock people, and his supposed temper flare ups.

The GOP, if Gingrich gets the nomination, must emphasize the much lower standards set by Clinton, Frank, Studs, Rangel, Geitner, etc.

All these reasons are why Obama will get a second term. Not one single GOP candidate is viable. Perry is out, Bachman is out, Cain is out, Hunstman is unknown, Paul is a nutjob, and Gingrich has too much baggage and is unelectable IMHO. That leaves Romney whose faith is an issue for many on the far right and again, will prevent him from a supportive backing. All the other candidates are unknown…. Who does that leave? Obama for another 4 years. The GOP has no one in the ranks who can appease the right and woo the middle. Obama has the left and has the ability to woo the middle. Sucks, but it is what it is.Personally I think until real, revolutionary change occurs the political process is going flounder back and forth… Dems mess up vote GOP… GOP messes up vote Dem…ad nauseum…

He's been Palinized.  Hope he stays around long enough to see what happens in Iowa.I don't think Romney's faith will be that big a deal to anyone.

I could care less about Romney being a Mormon, Romneycare by itself is enough to keep me from ever voting for the guy.  I would grit my teeth and vote for Ron Paul first.  I don't see how anybody who calls themselves conservative can vote for Romney, who is a RINO if they ever existed in the first place.  I would rather have another 4 years of Obama than 4 years of a faux Republican like Romney.  Electability be damned, at least with Obama we know what we would be getting versus Romney, the Great Electoral Enigma.

Well, with Cain out of the race who is the Republican nominee?  I don't think it will be Romney and I hope it won't be Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul, I don't know who it will be.  I still hold grave reservations about Paul's stability and I just plain don't trust Gingrich and Romney's picture is in the dictionary next to RINO.  Sadly, it looks like the Republicans are going to nominate another loser or Democrat lite and we should perhaps start preparing for another for years of Obama and the institutionalization of Obamacare.  What a sad state the country is in when the only people willing to step forward are such as we have seen so far and the only real person that ran had his character assassinated without a word of protest from the rest of the Republican field.  There are no Reagan's or Ike's waiting in the Republican wings right now.

Anyone watch Huckabee and the candidates on Fox this weekend? Great format. The attorneys-generals were tough and fair.

palin palin palin palin.Hate to resort to a write-in, but that's what it looks like I'll be doing.  Sure hope we get a Republican-controlled Congress for Obama's next 4 years. 🙁

I think if you are looking for perfection in a candidate, then no candidate will ever suffice.  Cain was flawed, Palin is flawed, and the other candidates running are flawed.  Obama was flawed when he was running but his base circled around him and the flaws are de-emphasized.  In the end I think it comes down to selecting the best candidate of those who have a chance of winning, rather than the best candidate in the world.  There is a big difference.

I didn't see it.  Am wondering what the Trump debate will look like in the future.

Rememer, POTUS nominates for SCOTUS and other judges. That is one cogent reason to support any GOP candidate who gets the nomination to run against Obama.
