Looks like they are trying to clean up the American History Forums site.

Interesting….although I see they didn't clean it up completely.  Some old spam survived, and I see that new spam has been posted within the last two or three days.  Remember….spammers are easily frightened, but they'll soon be back, and in greater numbers.

I was searching on familiar words whose definitions I couldn't quite recall.  Unfortunately, can't quite recall *what* I was trying to look up, I was surfing the web for odd news because i was bored.  I found myself in mideival history, which is a period that has begun to interest me but which i never sufficiently explored as an undergrad.  So here i am.

I was specifically looking for a –history forum-, I searched those terms. Google had your link but at the time it was buried in the results, page five or something like that. If you search Western Civ., your site comes up first. Its impossible to get away from the fact that current events, especially in times of upheaval, may trump the study of history for pleasure. You have a general discussion page, in my experience this is always a popular board and often ignites the subject of past administrations and so forth. A strong, gen. diss. board, should lead to more specific historical subjects. IMHO

I arrived here by chance while looking for informations about the Normans and the Early Middle Ages. I couldn't help to reply about Feudalism and the virus got over me …Even if I like to provoke or to be sarcastic, I've always found gentlemen here, quite rare and precious, especially about the feelings on the opposite bank of the Atlantic !

The reason I have been here so long (minus some minor hiatus) is because the board isn't too big with rambling egos trying to flame each other into oblivion.  Phid is a top notch admin and a friend I have come to respect, as with ALL of the participants of this board.  I hope this board continues to grow and spur the interest of true history students.

I am a real history and current affairs buff. I have been a member of a political discussion forum called Political Wrinkles since May 2008, and before that Utopia Temple since February 2004, until I saw that the general discussions thread had pretty much died, and decided to defect with another member. However, I recently realised that in order for a society to succeed, one must not only keep abreast of current events, but also what occurred in the past. Only then will we know how our present state came about and how we can use the lessons of history to shape our future. I'm a finance student in college, but my interest in history remains. So I typed in “historical discussion forum” into Google and found this great site! I hope to be an earnest contributor in the months and years to come.
