If I don't stay away from current American POTUS election politics, I'll be needing high blood pressure medication by the end of August. But I was curious about Obama's speech in BerlinLINK(Please forgive me for linking to an extreme Left-wing blog)In it he said:

But REALITY says:

Obama is going to win folks, it's just that simple. He has been annointed the world's messiah, and that scares the crap out of me.
I hope he's not going to be elected either, but the one thing that concerns me is, IF he is elected we're going to have yet more of a huge split in Congress and between R's and D's…probably even worse than it is now. I see stories from right-wing pundits about Obama, and half the stuff is either exagerrated or untrue. For example, a recent bill Obama sponsored will probably get passed, and some right-wingers are saying it's going to cost the country $845 billion. According to CBO, and the State Dept, it's cost is estimated to be only $1 million. I have no idea where the writers got their figure.IMO, there's enough stuff on Obama to expose him. We need to just concentrate on factual information. This Muslim thing and citizenship “debate” is not going to accomplish anything.All these huge splits and lack of cooperation will prevent anything from getting done. I actually thought it would have been worse if Hillary got in, but I don't think it will make any difference. Yes, Obama will do many “liberal” or socialist things, but I seriously doubt everything he's going to do will be negative. He's still going to be accountable to two other branches of government.
… but he gets to appoint people to one of those branches; with a Dem. majority in the other it could get ugly. 😮
He might annoint one. Agree about Congress…a Dem Congress would scare me more than a Pres. Obama.But I still think we should debate his policies factually and not go to extremes. Credibility.
What scares me is that some people out there don't like either candidate and will NOT be voting. We have Congressional and House seats that also need to be voted on and thats were we can really be up the creek. So lets hope that we can get a strong house and congress to possibly offset anything should Obama actually win.
Simply put, fearing the worst, I have been buying guns I believe will be banned, along with as much ammo as the quikdraw coffers can stand.McCain isn't my dream canidate by any means…but Obama is a nightmare in waiting.

Unless McCain finds a way to energize the GOP Conservative base, he's toast. Obama will get the vote out in the minority communities and will retain a hefty Democrat turnout in the Blue states. So if nothing changes, Obama is your next president. I won't vote for McCain simply because he has betrayed the GOP too many times for me to forget. I'll vote either for Bob Barr or not vote at all this election year. I don't buy into the “throwing your vote away” myth, and I might possibly write in Ron Paul regardless of the fact that he dropped out.
Tell me this, Donnie. I don't mean this facetiously, but…why don't you write your own name in for president, or someone else who you think would be good? I'm wondering because while I realize that you don't think McCain is the best possible presidential candidate (same here), Bob Barr and Ron Paul seem to have the same chance of winning as a vote for you or for someone else you know personally. In the scheme of things – and if you could have a hypothetical person in office – I imagine you would want yourself there so you could call the shots. So my question is why would you not write in your own name for president but instead write in Bob Barr or Ron Paul?
Writing yourself in is fruitless unless you control enough funds to control the elections. Listen to what I just said. No money, forget it. Money buys elective power; the lack of funds insures no power. Political Science 101.Bottom line? You need funds from contributors that ask you do as they say for the money. I thought everyone understood the basic corruption that is government.
My 2 Cents.While I don't like McCain I will probably be holding my nose and voting for him. Plainly put, Obama scares the hell out of me and I simply don't trust anyone that thinks they can spend my money better than I can.What really dissapoints me is that in a nation of 300 million people Obama and McCain are the best we could come up with? I find it hard to believe that there is not another Reagan, Ike, or even Nixon out there and we could have truly great leadership in America. Instead, we are stuck with mediocre to bad candidates that have the money and are willing to put up with the campaign trail to get into office. I have yet to hear any candidate other than Ron Paul talk anything concrete on the issues, and Ron Paul is a flake, in my opinion.
