….for better or worse. In case the rumors of my untimly demise have been ciculating I thought I would catch you up on my doings. I have been building a house and as anyone who has ever done this knows, it takes all your time, your wifes, your kids and most of my cats. So anyway that is that. We will be moving out to the property June 1st and stay in my father-in-laws fifth wheel so we can get it finished….we are hoping by the end of the summer. So I will be hitting the library for any internet use I may find myself in need of >:(. So now I will peruse the rest of the board and see what you good folks have been talking about. ;D

Well let me be the first to congratulate you on the new house and welcome you back.  I was wondering where you had been.  I'm sure you'll find more plenty of posts that were made during your interim to satisfy you for now.

Stumpfoot, welcome back! Isn't construction wonderful? lol…until my current job, I've always worked as a bookkeeper in the residential/commercial construction industry. Personally, I find it interesting to watch the construction process of any building but I certainly understand the headaches that go along with it.

Yes, I am moving to Europe.  I only have 3 more years until I retire from the Military and I will stay in Europe aftyer retirement, so my wife and I will have our hands full finding a lot and putting a house on it over the next year or so.

I plan on living in Northern Bavaria in a little town called Gerolzhofen about 15 miles from Wuerzberg.  We already have the lot picked out, we just have to design the house.

Wow.  That's cool!  If it's not too personnal a question, what are you planning to do for work there?

I hope to do a little teaching once my MA is finished.  I also have a line on a some consulting jobs where my degree will come in handy as well.  And if worse comes to worse, I have already told my wife I will just have to be a house-husband and live off her dime and my retirement check.  At least with retirement I know the house will be paid for.

That sounds quite interesting. I'd love to spend some length of time in Europe instead of just a week, which I plan on doing within the year.  It would be an experience to do a semester or two over there as well.  (and they actually televise rugby games)By the way new guys, THANK YOU for your sevice!

So Stumpfoot you should let us know how progress is continuing on your house.  A few photos wouldn't be bad, either.  🙂
