I am curious – is this something you have also posted over at Tribulation Project?  I am pretty sure I know why you are saying this.

No I haven't posted anything on this anywhere else.  He is the front runner though so it's not like it's that big of a stretch.  It would be wild if he is indeed chosen as the next Pope and word is he is one of Benedict's favorite Cardinals.

Here is an interesting article speculating on the chances of an American being elected to the Papacy.  My first reaction was to laugh but then I thought again and maybe there is something to it.  Americans are nothing if not dynamic and it the papacy needs somebody who is both charismatic and dynamic at this point in time.

Too many European Cardinals won't ever let that happen.

I still think it will be a Hispanic or African but I suppose it is possible that an American could get it.  I am fairly convinced at this point that the next Pope will not be European.  I think the European Cardinals understand that Catholicism is dying in Europe because of a combination of post-modern secularism and the influx of Islam.

Well if an American becomes Pope, you know the end is near.

Why?  Is that a sign of the End Times I have never heard before?

I was being facetious.  I don't think the European Cardinals are too keen on bowing to an American Pope.

Waiting to see who will be the next Pope. Tons of people crammed into St. Peter's Square.

Very interesting.  From Argentina, a Jesuit, and the name of Francis.  I will have to wait an hear why he may have chosen that particular name.

I was convinced it would be an Italian or Turkson.  He seems like a good choice too though.  I also think Pope Francis has a nice ring to it.How much do you want to bet that the NWO and conspiracy types are going to have a field day with him being a Jesuit?

Do people actually harbor those conspiracies nowadays?  I thought they were the kind of thing you'd find in historical writings of decades or centuries ago.

You never listen to coast to coast am do you?  Conspiracy is alive and well my friend.  I listen to it streaming every once in a while for light entertainment.  It ain't just Wal-Mart where the freaks come out at night.
