I have noticed that there a lot of members on the list that do not post and some who have been silent for years.  Are they not sent to the memory hole after a time?  Also I noticed that very few members post–and most of those are the same people all the time?WallyScoutAethelingDonald BakerPhidippidesskiguyet. al I have not rememberedThese seem to form the core.  Is there a reason for this or is it a anomoly?

There are a few reasons.  Some people might have signed up to ask a specific question or add a thought to a particular thread.  Others got interested for a bit and then their interest waned.  Some people arranged with me to swap posts on a per-post basis with their forums.  Some might be spammer robots, though I have tried to delete accounts which are clearly those.Naturally I would like more people to join and to post.  But at the same time, it is fairly intimate here right now, isn't it?  ;D

Anxiety and feelings (of surprise, disorientation, uncertainty, confusion, etc.) might fell when people have to operate within a different and unknown culture such as one may encounter. It's called culture shock.  I've almost thought to give up but I didn't coz I wanted to share my “Old-continent” opinion as well and … shake the tree sometimes !  ::)

Dont quit, you are one of the most enjoyable people on this forum to debate and argue with.  It is no fun to always talk to like-minded people.  The conversation gets sterile without different perspectives.  That is why I like both you and now willyD, you both keep the place interesting. 🙂

I find that the more the core group posts, the more likely others find their way back.

Hey, maybe I should send out one of those forum-wide newsletters again to get people interested again. People like stumpfoot?  Where is that guy, anyway?  Oh, and I could always bring Grey Mouser back…that would spice it up a bit. ;D

I don't have issues with GM.  He hits the sauce every now and then which makes for fun posts, but other than that, he's just incoherent. 🙂
