    Put these pre-900 A.D. Frankish rulers in chronological order:Charlemagne, Charles the Bald, Charles Martel, Clovis, Pepin II, Pepin the Short Can you do it?  ???

    I believe it is Clovis, Pepin the Short, Pepin II, Charlemagne, Charles Martel, and Charles the Bald.

    Clovis, Charles Martel, Charlegmagne, Charles the Bald, Pepin the short, and Pepin II.  I am proud of myself for not looking this one up either even if I'm wrong. 🙂

    Looks like no more answers will be attempted, so here is the correct order:1 – Clovis2 – Pepin II3 – Charles Martel4 – Pepin the Short5 – Charlemagne6 – Charles the BaldI unintentionally threw a curve in there as the Pepin II (635-714) that I referred to (also called Pepin of Herstal) is different from Pepin II of Aquitaine (823~864).  This latter Pepin must have led to Wally's answer.  Only Clovis was part of the Merovingian Dynasty, whereas the others were part of the Carolingian line.
