The more I watch soccer the more I am convinced that many, if not most, games are fixed.  Too often it happens that the “favorite” is pulled out at the last minute by a foul that the Ref just does not call or they let the game continue even after regulation and extra time has elapsed.

Give me a game where a lot of money is involved, which can't be suspicious?Meanwhile it's not game over yet for USA, let's see how the next match will be bribed… (Portugal are relying on a Germany win and must also achieve a six-goal swing if they are to pip the USA to second place and reach the last 16)BTW, nobody noticed the stunning and overwhelming victory against Russia. They are unstoppable  8)

I expect Belgium to reach at least the quarterfinals if not the semi-finals.

You're right but not just about few matches:  The next world cup will be held in Russia, then in 2022, in Qatar… Qatar where players might have to play during the night … because of climate details during summer!http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/13601803http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2415974/FIFA-President-Sepp-Blatter-admits-Qatar-2022-World-Cup-mistake.html

Conspiracy theories abound, but I don't think World Cup games are among them.  In terms of sports, the refs in soccer don't play as great a role as they do in some other sports, such as football, baseball, or probably basketball.  They announced the 5 minutes of stoppage time in advance yesterday, so the U.S. knew how much time they needed to burn.  The U.S. should never have let Portugal advance down the field like they did yesterday.  I blame the U.S. team for not finishing it like they should have.

I believe Russia was the betmakers' favorite, so congrats on the upset.  That could not have made Putin happy, though.

I had heard that they were on the verge of withdrawing the Qatar World Cup and awarding it to the United States….I wonder if this is still going to happen.

Maybe but that would be the acknowledgment of a major “failure” from the Fifa. But if the US could get it, that would be great.

The fact is that ORANJE is a real threat: in previous competitions, the Netherlands have been a real nightmare for Belgium. And they look very strong this year…

My little Dwarf Orange Crayfish are Dutch fans.  I should put a little Netherlands flag in their tank.  (serious note: these guys are more brown in the wild.  A Dutch breeder got some and bred them to be orange for national pride reasons)

Since they're only an inch long, you'll need about 500 of them to make a meal.
