You're probably right about the original Grimm's tales, as they came from the state of Hesse next to the state of Bavaria, even if any dark forest would be scary for kids

According to that monument design, the six glass towers recall “the six main death camps, the six million Jews who died, or a menorah of memorial candles” .  I might be wrong but a menorah is a 7- or 9-branched candelabrum, isn't it ?

That's very surprising, nowhere have I heard about such a dummy city all along the 93 years following 1918 …  That's misinformation as it was just a project and never realized ! (another kind of Ligne Maginot-style delirium)  ::)

An excavation at the site of a 1941 Spitfire crash in a bog in the Irish Republic uncovered huge, remarkably preserved chunks of plane and six Browning machine guns. After 70 years buried in peat could they be made to fire?http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-15652440

It's more about V for Vendetta than about Guy Fawkes that these ppl of the Occupy movement are referring to; the real Fawkes is at lightyears away from their thoughtshttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-15359735

I think there's an essential difference between the British and the Americans: In the U.S., they revile and barely remember the names of treasonous traitors who tried to destroy their way of life. In the U.K., they have holidays in honour of such efforts.  😉

Here's another ancient example from Rome, of the emperor Septimius Severus with wife, son Nero, and….wait, who's the other kid?You can kind of guess who was responsible for this.

Damnatio memoriae !  ???Tondo of the Severan family, with portraits of Septimius Severus, Julia Domna, Caracalla, and Geta. Geta's face has been erased, because of the damnatio memoriae ordered by his brother. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damnatio_memoriae http://ancienthistory.about.com/od/romannames1/a/EmperorsErased.htm

The problem with these lunatics is that whatever someone from western civilisation did, it's bad and wrong.  As if climate change pre-existed the Industrial revolution, perhaps the goats of Ancient Israel triggered global warming !
