How is this word supposed to be spelled? I distinctly remember being taught to spell it with an “n” and not two “m's”. There are several thousand hits about this word on Google because apparently an entire generation of people on both sides of the Atlantic was taught to spell this word incorrectly. I typed it into a post today and Firefox told me I spelled it wrong and then I almost found myself arguing with a web browser. I checked the four dictionaries I have at the house and all say it is dilemma, the oldest dictionary I have was printed in 1911. I wonder why apparently so many people, including myself, think it should be spelled dilemna?
Just take the easy out and write “a bad situation”. ;D
