Several years ago I was laid up for a while. The PBS TV was running a series called “Tenko”. It was about a group of women imprisoned by the Japanese in WW2. It ran for about an hour each day. Very addicting series . Anyone familiar with this British series? I searched for some tapes to buy recently but they were very expensive.
Was it related in any way to the book The Rape of Nanking?
The series was about a group of civilian women from Singapore. They were British,Dutch and Austrailians. One was a British Doctor some were aristocrat types and others were soldiers wives.here is a site about the series:http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/news/cult/2004/09/20/14329.shtml
